CII HRM Summit on HRís Role in Enabling Strategy and Performance

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized an HRM Summit on HRís Role in Enabling Strategy and Performance at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 13th May, 2014. The objective of the event was to focus on aligning the strategy and structure with the organizational culture.

 

Ms. Shivani Arora, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the event as a delegate.

 

The event began with the inaugural session followed by welcome address by Mr. Rajeev Kapoor, Conference Chairman & Co-Chairman, Regional Taskforce on ER CII Northern Region, Fortis Healthcare Ltd. He emphasized on a well aligned and strong purpose driven culture as a key competitive advantage for organization.

 

In her theme address Ms. Sujata Desmnukh, Principal-Leadership Consulting Heidrick & Struggles Knowledge Partnerdiscussed various challenges such as environmental concerns, geopolitical tensions, tougher regulations and decreased public confidence in corporate.

 

Mr. P. Rajendram, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder, NIIT Ltd. and Mr. S. Y. Siddiqui, Chief Mentor, Maruti Suzuki India Limited shared their valuable experiences and highlighted the need for building skilled professionals for global industry requirements.

 

In the first panel the resource persons Mr. Santosh Babu, Managing Director organization Development Alternatives, Mr. Rajendra Ghag, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer HDFC Life and Mr. Harbhajan Singh, Vice President Corporate Affairs Honda Motor Cycle and Scooter Indiadiscussed the role of chief custodians in shaping and sustaining organization culture.

 

In the second panel discussion the resource persons Mr. Graham Poston, Partner - Leadership Consulting Heidrick& Strugglesand Mr. Amit Malik, CHRO Aviva India emphasized on the fact that the success of an organizational strategy depends not only on the organization structure and execution processes but also on its culture.

 

At the end there was a motivational session chaired by Dr. Anil Sethi, Motivator Management Consultant and Corporate Trainer Systematic International. Dr. Sethi delivered an energetic speech on the art of motivation. He discussed the impact of the positive thinking on the culture of an organization.

 

The session concluded with the round table discussion leading to constructive ideas and suggestions for the smooth functioning of organization.

 

Mr. Rajeev Kapoor summed up the session and rendered Vote of Thanks.
