Sahaja Yoga: Rhythm of Inner Peace - A Sufi Music and Meditation Experience

19th March 2026

NSS Units of Dronacharya Group of Institutions organized Sahaja Yoga (Rhythm of Inner Peace) on 19th March 2026, an engaging event featuring Sufi Music and Meditation. The event was thoughtfully designed not merely as a musical performance, but as a journey inward, using the transformative power of music to inspire introspection, stillness, and spiritual awareness. It offered the audience a unique opportunity to experience meditation through sound and silence.

Sahaja Sufi music, as presented by Professor Anandita Basu and her team, draws upon universal spiritual traditions. It seamlessly blends Sufi poetry, Indian classical devotional music, and the meditative principles of Sahaja Yoga. This harmonious fusion created a serene and uplifting atmosphere, encouraging the audience to connect deeply with their inner selves.

The programme commenced with a pre-event welcome by the NSS volunteers, Kartik and Garima, who warmly greeted the audience and outlined essential guidelines to maintain the sanctity of the event. Attendees were requested to observe silence, keep their mobile devices on silent mode, and refrain from photography without prior permission. These instructions helped establish a calm and focused environment for the evening.

This was followed by a formal bilingual welcome (Swagat Udghaatan), where dignitaries, faculty members, staff, and students were cordially addressed. An introduction of the Chief Guest, Professor Anandita Basu, highlighted her distinguished musical career, global recognition, and deep association with Sahaja Yoga music. As a mark of respect and appreciation, the Director Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Mangesh and Registrar Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh of Dronacharya Group of Institutions presented her with a token of appreciation, expressing the institution’s gratitude and warm welcome.

The accompanying artists were then individually introduced and felicitated with Tokens of Love. This gesture acknowledged their valuable contributions and ensured that each performer felt welcomed and appreciated.

A special address on Sahaja Yoga formed an important segment of the programme, offering insights into its philosophy and spiritual significance. The address focused on the teachings of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, particularly her discovery of a spontaneous method for awakening the Kundalini energy within individuals. This awakening, known as Self-Realisation, was described as a universal and natural experience accessible to all, leading to a state of thoughtless awareness characterized by inner peace and mental clarity.

The main musical performance by Professor Anandita Basu and her team created a deeply meditative and tranquil atmosphere. The performance transformed the space into one of collective meditation, truly reflecting the essence of the event. The event ended on a graceful and fulfilling note, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
