Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026

Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 was organized on 19th December 2025 at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, in collaboration with My Bharat (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India). The event was conducted under the theme “50 Years of Emergency – Learnings for Indian Democracy” (आपातकालके 50 साल – भारतीयलोकतंत्रकेलिएसीख) with the objective of enabling young citizens to critically examine a significant phase of Indian democratic history and derive meaningful lessons for the future of the nation.
The program witnessed an overwhelming response, with 771 student registrations. After a rigorous screening process, 178 students were shortlisted, and 50+ participants were selected for active parliamentary deliberations, ensuring high-quality discussions reflecting strong constitutional awareness, research depth, and democratic understanding.
The event commenced with a ceremonial welcome, followed by a traditional Tika ceremony and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Sanjay Mayukh (MLC) as the Chief Guest and Mr. Aniruddha Pratap Singh, BJP Spokesperson, as the Guest of Honour. The program was further enriched by the presence of Dr. Dayashankar Vidyalankar, International Yoga Guru, and Mr. Samardeep Saxena, NSS Head. The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Sangeeta Mangesh Karyakarte, Director-DGI; Mr. Shivendra Singh, Deputy Director, My Bharat; Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh, Registrar-DGI; and Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj, Coordinator, VBYP 2026.
During the “Words of Wisdom” session, the dignitaries emphasized the resilience of the Indian Constitution and the responsibility of youth in safeguarding democratic values. The Chief Guest highlighted the strength of constitutional principles, while the Guest of Honour urged students to ensure that democratic lapses like the Emergency are never repeated.
The Youth Parliament proceedings were conducted through three structured sessions at the DGI Auditorium, focusing on civil liberties, the role of the judiciary, constitutional institutions, and the power of the electorate. Participants engaged in vibrant debates, effectively simulating parliamentary procedures through logical arguments and rebuttals.
Several students were recognized for their outstanding parliamentary conduct and contributions. Anisudh Tyagi, Vedant Vyas, Harshita Dargan, Sanskriti Kontala, Riya Singh, Shivam, Riya Nagar, Vaibhav Pandey, and Bhaskar Shukla were awarded certificates of appreciation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sangeeta Mangesh Karyakarte, who appreciated the dedication and enthusiasm of the participants and the organizing team. The Youth Parliament successfully strengthened democratic awareness and empowered students to actively contribute towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
