Cleanliness Drive Organized by NSS Cell
18th September 2025
NSS Cell of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized a Cleanliness Drive on 18th September 2025 as part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The initiative aimed to promote the values of hygiene, cleanliness, and community service among students.
The activity was conducted under the guidance and supervision of Dr. Shailesh Singh (Registrar, DGI), and NSS Program Officer Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj who encouraged the volunteers to take ownership of their surroundings and contribute to building a cleaner and healthier environment.
The event commenced with volunteers gathering in the campus courtyard, where they were briefed about the objectives and structure of the drive. Equipped with gloves, garbage bags, and other cleaning tools, the participants undertook the cleaning of both campus premises and adjoining areas outside the campus.
As part of the initiative, the volunteers carefully segregated the collected waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable components, emphasizing the significance of sustainable waste management and eco-friendly practices. The effort not only improved the cleanliness of the area but also served as a learning experience, sensitizing the youth towards environmental conservation. The drive concluded with a short reflection session and the distribution of refreshments, fostering a sense of accomplishment and unity among the participants.
This cleanliness campaign stood as a practical extension of classroom learning and a reminder that cleanliness is not just a duty but a shared responsibility. It also reinforced NSS’s larger vision of nurturing socially conscious citizens who are ready to give back to society. The event was successful in instilling civic sense, environmental awareness, and volunteer spirit among the students, making it a truly impactful experience for all involved.
