NSS Adventure Camp at Kangra, Himachal Pradesh

Two NSS volunteers Drishti Sharma (3rd Year, CSE) and Gaurav Dubey (3rd Year, CSE) of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended an “NSS Adventure Camp” held at Kangra, Himachal Pradesh from 14th - 24th September, 2022. The camp was held at water sports center which was situated at the edge of Beas River. A man-made reservoir was constructed at river Beas known as Pong Dam.
The 10 day camp included registration and introduction with each other on the first day followed by swimming, kayaking, sailing, surfing, foiling, etc. Each day started with practicing Yoga, running exercise and trekking. Everyday two sessions of two hours each comprising different water activities were there. Trainers were available to help the NSS volunteers. They also taught students the basics of swimming like jumping and diving in the water. They were also taught about techniques of sailing and way to rescue from sail boat was also taught. Volunteers practiced a lot on diving and finally almost all the students learnt diving. They also visited nearby market.
On the last day of the camp, every member participant was given certificate and all of them had a group photograph. It was a great experience for all the students and they learnt a lot about water activities and sports.
