INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2016 CELEBRATION
Yoga Camp at DGI, Greater Noida
21st June 2016
NSS Wing of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized Yoga Camp on 21st June 2016 to celebrate second International Yoga Day. The event at DGI was attended by students and staff members. Yoga mentors Sister Preetiand Sister Pallavi from Brahmkumaris Centre graced the event at the campus.
Director Prof. (Dr.) S.K Bagga welcomed Sister Preeti and Sister Pallavi by presenting bouquet to them. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga also motivated and encouraged the participants to practice yoga and meditation in their daily life.
Sister Preeti then conducted the Yoga and Meditation session. She said Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well - being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. She also explained benefits of Yoga: It enhances vitality, focus, memory; Stabilizes the body, mind and emotions; Strengthens and stabilizes the spine; Can relieve back pain, stress, anxiety and tension; relieve from chronic ailments and improves overall health; Enhances teamwork and communication; Imparts a lasting sense of joy, peace and fulfillment.
The session came to an end with the Vote of Thanks rendered by Dr. S. K. Srivastava, DGI - NSS Coordinator.
