GRAND FINALE (SOFTWARE EDITION)
2nd & 3rd MARCH 2019
The Grand Finale of the Software edition of Smart India Hackathon 2019 was held on 2nd - 3rd March 2019 at 48 nodal centers all across the country during which more than 1500 teams (6 participants per team) competed non-stop for 36 hours. Team ROUBUSTO of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida was selected for the final round held at the nodal centre, Guru Nanak Institute Of Technology, Kolkata. Smart India Hackathon 2019 is a non-stop digital product development competition, where problem are posed to engineering students for innovative solutions. More than 500+ problem statements had been posted from several prestigious private sector organizations and different government ministries for which more than 57897 ideas were submitted by 34815 Teams from 2235 institute all across the country. Out of these ideas, 1500 teams were shortlisted for the grand finale of SIH 2019.
The Grand Finale at GNIT, Kolkata was inaugurated by the Chief Guest - Major General Dr. Souresh Bhattacharya on 2nd March 2019 with the lighting of the lamp. Sardar Jodh Singh, Chairman, GNIT delivered the Welcome Address. It was followed by live video speeches by Dr. Anand Deshpande, Chaiman and MD, Persistent System and Co-Chair, Organizing committee, Smart India Hackathon, Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, and Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon. Minister of HRD.
The nonstop 36 hour Hackathon had two training sessions of 7-10 minutes per team.
Team ROBUSTO Project idea was Smart Renting named RENTWAY. The idea was to build an application, which helps to rent different item online.
Trainer Mr. Swastik Mishra (Senior Solutions Architect, AI/ML & Cognitive in Ericsson India) sought information regarding the basic requirement of Software that Team Robusto planned to develop. He encouraged the team and wished them luck.
During the first round of evaluation, the teams had to present their idea within 4 minutes followed by Q&A for next 3 minutes.
The first round of evaluation was followed by second round of mentoring and the recreational activity followed by a Yoga session.
The second round of evaluation started at 9:00 am on 3rd March 2019. It was evaluated by a 3-member panelists.
It was followed by power mentoring and the third and final round of evaluation where the judges laid emphasis on the implementation of ideas.
The Valedictory Session started at 8:00 PM. Guest of Honour, Prof. (Dr.) Phalguni Gupta, Director, NIITTR-Kolkata, gave away prizes and Mementoes to the winners and all other participants.
The Grand Finale of SIH 2019 concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
