7th March 2025
SAE India Collegiate Club, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noidaorganized a visit to “AICTE IDEA Lab Fest Exhibition” on 7th March 2025 at the AICTE Headquarters, New Delhi. Students of Mechanical Department along with faculty member Dr. Saket Kumar went for the visit.
The visit was organized with the aim of exposing students to cutting-edge innovations, real-world applications of engineering concepts, and emerging technologies promoted through the AICTE IDEA (Innovation,Design and Entrepreneurship Academy) Lab initiative.
The AICTE IDEA Lab FestExhibition was a national-level showcase of student-driven innovations and entrepreneurial ventures supported by IDEA Labs established in technical institutions across India. The exhibition featured working models, digital innovations, AI/ML-based tools, hardware and software prototypes, robotics demonstrations, and sustainable technology solutions.
Theevent was inaugurated by AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam, who emphasized the importanceof fostering a cultureof innovation among students. He encouraged institutions to utilize IDEA Labs as spaces for experimentation, design thinking and product development.
The exhibition showcased a wide array of projects and prototypes developed by students from various institutions under the IDEA Lab (Idea Development Evaluation & Application) framework.About 100 stalls were set up, showcasing projects from various IDEA Labs across India. These projects spanneda cross multiple domains including Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics & Automation, Green Energy & Sustainability, 3D Printing & Rapid Prototyping, Smart Agriculture, Healthcare, Urban Infrastructure and many more. Students from the Dronacharya Group of Institutions participated to attend live demonstrations of various projects made by institutions from pan India.
Students had the opportunity to:
- Interact with peer innovators from different colleges and learn about diverse technical
- Engage with mentors industry experts and AICTE officials who provided valuable insights into the innovation ecosystem and career opportunities in emerging technologies.
- Attend live demonstrations and workshops on tools such as 3D printers, automated machines, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, CNC machines and other rapid prototyping technologies.
- Understand the importance of design thinking and interdisciplinary learning in solving real-world problems.
The visit was both educational and inspiring, exposing students to cutting-edge innovations and encouraging them to think beyond conventional classroom learning. It alsoreinforcedthe importance of fostering a culture of experimentation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Students gained valuable insights into practical applications of their theoretical knowledge. Exposure to diverse projects sparked creativity and broadened students' perspectives on interdisciplinary innovation.
