Udayan Care Shalini Higher Education Empowering Girls

NSS units and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, in collaboration with Udayan Care's Shalini Higher Education Program, conducted an impactful Innovation & Outreach Program aimed at empowering young women through education. The event took place on the college premise and saw enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty members.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Arpita Gupta (Director, DGI) who emphasized the importance of higher education for girls in building a progressive society. Following this, Ms. Nidhi Bhatia, Senior Program Coordinator of Udayan Care's Shalini Program, delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the significance of education in transforming the lives of young women. Ms Soni Thakur (Assistant Program Coordinator of Udayan Care's Shalini Program) shared success stories of Shalini fellows who have excelled in various fields despite socio-economic challenges.
Interactive sessions formed the core of the outreach program. Participants were engaged in discussions on topics such as career planning, scholarship opportunities, and personal development. The NSS team facilitated these sessions, ensuring active involvement from all attendees. The girls were encouraged to ask questions, share their aspirations, and seek guidance on overcoming obstacles in their educational journey.
A key highlight of the event was visit of the campus by Dr. Shailesh Singh (Innovation Ambassador, DGI) & Ms. Swati Tyagi (Assistant Professor, DGI) and the segment provided valuable insights and practical advice, motivating the girls to pursue their academic goals with renewed vigor. For the active participation by the students, they were also facilitated with token of appreciation.
The outreach program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj (Convener), who appreciated the efforts of Udayan Care and the NSS unit in organizing the event. He reiterated the institution's commitment to supporting initiatives that empower young women through education.
The program left a lasting impact on the participants and reinforced the message that education is a powerful tool for empowerment and social change.
