NSS Units, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organised a World Ozone Day Awareness Programme on 16th September 2026 at the campus to sensitise students towards the importance of protecting the ozone layer. The programme focused on developing environmental awareness and encouraging students to understand their role in promoting sustainable and responsible practices.
An engaging and informative expert awareness session by Prof. Dr. Neelam Baghel provided students with valuable insights into the significance of the ozone layer and the challenges associated with its depletion. She explained the major causes of ozone depletion, including the harmful effects of ozone-depleting substances, and discussed their impact on human health, agriculture, ecosystems, and the environment. Following the expert session, an Ozone Awareness Quiz was conducted for the students. A large number of B.Tech First Year students participated enthusiastically and demonstrated their knowledge of ozone-related environmental concerns. The activity added an interactive dimension to the programme while encouraging students to reflect on the importance of protecting the atmosphere.
