India - China Trade and Investment Symposium

A Symposium on “India - China Trade and Investment” was organized by CII in association with State - Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Tainjin Municipal Government, Tainjin Commission of Commerce, Foreign Affairs Office of Tainjin Municipal Government and Tainjin Foreign Service Cooperation on 3rd March’2015 at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi. Dr. Sahab Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studiesand Mr. Lokendra Kumar Yadav, student of MBA 1st year from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noidaattended the symposium.
The objective of this symposium was to discuss the opportunities of collaboration between two Asian Economic Giants-India and China and to explore the different sectors for ease of doing business in both the nations. It gave a common forum for interaction to the eminent personalities from academics, Governmental secretariats and industries.
Mr. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII, inaugurated session by extending his heartfelt wishes to distinguished Chinese guests, delegates and audience for being there. He stated that Indian industrialists need to understand the demand of time for making the dream of our Honorable Prime Minister’s come true by offering a suitable and favourable environment to the foreign investors.
His Excellence Li Yucheng, Chinese Ambassador to India, said that this meeting is a positive step towards exchanging technologies between both the countries. He admired the foreign concerns of Indian PM restructuring the policies for making India a hub of business. He also disseminated that they came here with a hope to negotiate and build symbolic win-win business model to share the economic benefits of collaboration.
Mr. Ranjeet Goswami, Country Manager Corporate Affairs, Tata Consultancy Services, shared a brief story of success of TCS and believed that we are committed to a long term partnership with China. He said that we have immeasurable natural resources and human capital but a fast action with a positive thought is required to start business immediately in all possible areas otherwise all these bilateral debates will remain in the files of corporate and ministries if the timely implementation is not done.
Mr. Li Shengli, Deputy Director, Tainjin Commission of Commerce Foreign Affairs Office of Tainjin Municipal People’s Government stressed upon depth development of bilateral strategic partnership and believed that Indian businessman will show their interest sincerely and enthusiastically in collaboration to create a new history of economic development across the world.
Mr. Li Fuming, Director, Tainjin Municipal State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission said that Tianjin is a city full of vitality & development vigor. India is an important country of “Maritime Silk Road” and has a culture of doing business. We can make full use of machinery, chemicals, equipments, infrastructure, electronics and computer parts and tourism of both sides to deepen the cooperation.
Dr. Sudhir Kapur, Chairman-CII Core Group on Energy Policy and Managing Director and CEO - Countrystrategy Engineering Service Pvt. Ltd. enunciated in his concluding remarks that we have around 2000 years old business relationship with China and will keep it continue in a healthy manner.
The event came to an end with closing remarks of Mr. Kapur followed by high network lunch.
