Vivekananda Kendra KanyaKumari, Delhi Branch organized Vimarsha on Yato Dharma: Tato Jay at Hansraj College Auditorium on 26th March 2015. Ma Nivedita Bhide, Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumariand Dr. Rajkumar Bhatia President National Democratic Teacher’s Front were the resource persons of the event. Dr. Shilpi Saxena, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the event as a delegate.
The event aimed to reestablish and redefine the meaning of Dharma and its application in human life that leads to victory. The golden words ‘Yato Dharma Tato Jay’ quoted in the Indian Epic, The Bhagwat Gita means “Where there is Dharma there is Victory”.
The event began in a traditional way with three Onkar and the chanting of Gayatri Mantra followed by Kendra Prarthna. Ma Nivedita Bhide and Dr. Rajkumar Bhatia were honoured by the presentation of bouquet that was followed by the lighting of ceremonial lamp.
Ma Nivedita Bhide began the session by defining the real meaning of Dharma in a philosophical and spiritual context. She said that Dharma cannot be translated into English as the word ‘Religion’ doesn’t represent the real meaning of Dharma. She defined Dharma is the soul of India and it provides a base and real method to live. She said that Dharma is not confined within the boundaries of religious myths and rituals. She conveyed Swami Vivekananda’s message which is to serve the humanity. She said that selfless service of humanity is the real Dharma.
Dr. Rajkumar Bhatia appreciated the efforts of Vivekananda Kendra for their spiritual service. He emphasized that Kendra is working with the twin objective Man Making and Nation Building. Besides this they are also spreading the sparkling ideas of Swamiji among the youth. He also stated that if the real dharma reestablished it will make an ideal society.
At the end a motivational documentary based on the life of Honorable Eknath Ranadeji, the founder of Vivekananda Rock Kanyakumari was also presented that showed the high spirit of Eknathji and his ways to transform challenges into opportunities.
The event was attended by the academicians, thinkers, philosophers and it provided a way to understand the traditional system of following Dharma.
The event was ended with the chanting of “Shanti Mantra Sarve Bhavantu Sukhina Sarve Santu Niramya”.
