Charting India's Global Education Path: A Time-Bound Roadmap

Ms. Richa Jaiswal (Training and Placement Head) and Ms. Bhanu Bhardwaj (Assistant Professor, CSE Department) Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, attended the conference on "Charting India’s Global Education Path: A Time-Bound Roadmap" which was organized by QS I-GAUGE at Sheraton Grand Pune Bund Garden Hotel, Pune on 6th July 2023.
The Academic Excellence Conclave 2023 aimed to achieve:
Insightful Recommendations: Participants to provide recommendations and insights on how India can enhance its education system to meet global standards and challenges.
Networking Opportunities: To facilitate networking among academia, educators and policymakers and foster collaborations to drive positive change in education.
Awareness and Advocacy: To promote awareness and advocacy for education reform in India.
The conclave brought together leading academics, educators, and thought leaders from across India to engage in critical discussions under the theme "Charting India’s Global Education Path: A Time-Bound Roadmap." The conclave aimed to address transformative trends and strategies for enhancing the quality of education in India, positioning it on the global stage.
The conference inaugural session was addressed by Prof. V Kamakoti (Director, IIT Madras), Prof. (Dr.) Suresh Gosavi (Vice-Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University), Prof. (Dr.) Rajan Saxena, (Former Vice Chancellor, NMIMS).
As part of the conference, there was a panel discussion on "Reverse engineering to cultivate youth employability". Participants in the discussion included the following panelist’s:- Dr. Anil Kashyap (President & Chancellor, NICMAR University), Dr. Lakshmi Kumar (Founder Director, The Orchid School) , Dr. Kuldeep Raina (Vice Chancellor, RUAS) , Dr. Snehal Pinto (Director, Ryan International Group) , Prof. Dishan Kamdar (Vice Chancellor, FLAME University). Addressing the challenges of employability, the session focused on the development of educational programs that align with the evolving needs of the job market. Participants also discussed curricular reforms, skill development initiatives, and industry-academia collaborations to empower students for a rapidly changing workforce.
Next was the panel discussion on "Unlocking new frontiers of learning in the digital Realm". The panelists of the conversation were Dr. Alice Abraham (President, IMPACT Group of Institutions) Mr. Sanjay Padode (Founding President, Vijaybhoomi University) Ms. Aditi Goradia (Managing Director, Billimoria High School) and Prof. Prabhat Ranjan (Vice Chancellor, D Y Patil International University). The discussion focused on harnessing the power of digital technologies and innovative approaches to transform the learning experience. Participants explored the strategies for leveraging digital resources, online platforms, and emerging technologies to enhance education quality and accessibility.
Moving the session further, panel next discussion was on “Fostering Empathy in Global Citizenship Education”. Participating panel members were – Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar (Pro Chancellor, Symbiosis International) Prof. Swati Karad Chate (Trustee, Secretary General, MAEER’s MIT Group) Dr. Smita Jadhav (Trustee and Executive Director, Dr. D Y Patil Vidyapeeth) Dr. Rajan Saxena, (Former Vice Chancellor, NMIMS & Advisory of FICCI HEI) In a globalized world, cultivating empathy and a sense of global citizenship is paramount. This discussion will examine how education can play a role in promoting cross-cultural understanding, tolerance, and empathy. Participants will explore curriculum design, international exchange programs, and other initiatives that foster a global perspective.
Next was the panel discussion on “Benchmarking Quality of Holistic Education”. Participating panel members were Ms. Deeksha Kalyani (Director, The Kalyani School), Dr. Bindu Saini (Principal, S B Patil Public School) Prof. Hrridaysh Deshpande (Vice Chancellor, Ajeenkya D Y Patil University) Ms. Astha Kataria (Managing Trustee, Ashoka Education Foundation) and Dr. Seema Saini (CEO & Principal at N L Dalmia Educational Society). Quality education extends beyond academics. The topic emphasized the importance of holistic education, focusing on character development, ethics, and values. Participants explored the strategies for assessing and benchmarking the holistic development of students, including social and emotional skills.
The participants got an opportunity know the recent development of education in the country.
