Seminar on Red Hat Linux

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology & MCA, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an interactive seminar on Red Hat Linux on 8th May 2015. The objective of the workshop was to spread awareness of the different technologies, trainings and services that are offered by RedHat and the diverse emerging role of Red Hat in the world of Information Technology. 30 students from CSE and IT department enthusiastically participated in the workshop.
TThe expert speakers for the day were Mr. Arun Eapen, Technical Delivery Manager & Certification Poobah-Red Hat India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Alok Srivastava, CEO of Network Nuts Pvt. Ltd, Technology. The event began with the floral welcome of the experts by Prof. (Dr.) SK Bagga, Honorable Director, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida.
Mr. Arun Eapen started the session by explaining the importance of open source initiative and the journey of Red Hat to carving out the first billion dollar open source company in the history of the software industry. He further went on to explain the open-source technologies provided by Red Hat that are being selected by increasing number of customers with gradual re-architecting of infrastructure of data centers for greater efficiency, agility and cloud enablement.
He versed the students with the technologies of Red Hat in detail. He made the students aware of how Red Hat is capturing the field of virtualization with its open-source, cross-platform, high-performance but affordable solutions. The IT giant is also making its presence felt in the cloud with an open, hybrid cloud infrastructure enabling its clients better serve their business needs by delivering more agile and flexible solutions while protecting business assets and preparing for the future.
Mr. Alok Srivastava in his address explained that due to the versatile presence of Red Hat, employees with Red Hat certifications-currently one of the top-three IT certifications, are highly sought after in the software industry globally. He concluded the seminar by briefing the students of the benefits that can be achieved with these certifications and its difference with other certification exams.
The workshop ended with the Vote of Thanks by Mr. Subhrajit Nag, Head of Department, CSE, IT & MCA.
