21st August 2026
The Department of MBA, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized a Business Model Competition on 21st August 2026 to commemorate Entrepreneurship Day 2026. The competition was organized for the first year MBAstudents, with the theme “From Ideas to Impact.” The event aimed to provide students with a practical platform to explore entrepreneurship, develop innovative business ideas, and understand the process of transforming an idea into a potential business opportunity.
The competition encouraged students to think beyond conventional academic learning and approach business challenges from an entrepreneurial perspective. Participants developed and presented their business models, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of different aspects of business planning and entrepreneurial decision-making. Through this activity, students were encouraged to identify opportunities, understand market needs, develop solutions, and consider the feasibility and potential impact of their proposed business ideas.
The Business Model Competition also provided an experiential-learning environment in which students could apply concepts learned in the classroom to practical business situations. While developing their models, students were encouraged to think about the value proposition of their ideas, the target customers, resources required, operational aspects, revenue potential, and the overall sustainability of their proposed ventures. This approach helped students appreciate the importance of connecting innovative ideas with practical business requirements.
The event focused on developing several essential entrepreneurial and managerial competencies among the participants. The activity promoted creative thinking, problem-solving, strategic thinking, business planning, decision-making, communication, and effective presentation skills. Presenting their business models also encouraged students to articulate their ideas clearly and develop confidence in communicating business concepts to an audience.
The theme “From Ideas to Impact” highlighted the importance of moving beyond simply generating innovative ideas and focusing on their practical application and potential contribution to society and the marketplace. The competition encouraged students to consider how their ideas could address existing challenges, create value for customers, and develop into meaningful business opportunities. It also helped students understand that successful entrepreneurship requires a combination of innovation, planning, adaptability, market awareness, and effective execution.
As part of the activity, students engaged with the process of converting conceptual ideas into structured business models. This enabled them to gain a better understanding of the various considerations involved in starting and developing a business.
Overall, the Entrepreneurship Day 2026 - Business Model Competition was an engaging and enriching academic activity that provided students with meaningful exposure to the entrepreneurial process. It motivated the MBA 2026–28 batch to explore innovative ideas, develop viable business models, and understand the importance of transforming ideas into impactful opportunities.
