Workshop on Cyber Security Essentials
19th August 2026
Departments of ECE, EEE and ECZ, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organised a workshop on “Cyber Security Essentials: Staying Safe in the Digital World” on 19 August 2026, featuring an insightful session by Mr. Nitin Chauhan, Solution Consultant at 3rd Eye Techno Solutions. The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Sanghamitra V. Arora, HOD ECE/EEE/ECS, and Prof. Aman Sanghi, Assistant Professor, and attended by more than 50 students. The session focused on practical aspects of firewall configuration, access control, intrusion detection and prevention, along with identifying cyber threats, applying effective countermeasures, and adopting safe and responsible digital practices.
Focusing on the growing importance of digital safety, the workshop introduced students to essential concepts of cyber security, network threats, vulnerabilities, and security measures. Key topics included malware, phishing, denial-of-service attacks, man-in-the-middle attacks, firewall technologies, and Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS).
Students also gained insights into secure communication protocols such as SSL/TLS, IPsec, and SSH, along with the role of encryption in protecting data. Practical demonstrations, hands-on exercises, case studies, and interactive discussions helped participants connect theoretical concepts with real-world cyber security practices.
Positive feedback from the participants reflected the effectiveness of the session, with around 85–90% of respondents expressing satisfaction and interest in exploring further project opportunities. Participants also suggested longer hands-on sessions, additional self-learning resources, and advanced follow-up workshops.
The workshop concluded as a valuable learning experience, enhancing students’ cyber security awareness, technical understanding, and practical skills while encouraging responsible and secure practices in the digital environment.
