52nd Annual Convention of the Computer Society of India was held at Science City, Kolkataduring 19 to 21 January 2018. The objective of this convention was to deliberate on the social transformation through different digital ways.
The convention was held in the presence of the following CSI Board Members :

Prof. Dr. Anirban Basu - President (2016-2017)
Dr. Phalguni Mukherjee - Organizing Chair-
Prof. A.K.Nayak - Fellow & National Secretary,
and many other delegates from various CSI chapters, Academic Institutions, Government Departments and Industries.
Ms. Shanthi Makka - (HOD-CSE) attended the Convention as a representative from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 21st January 2018.
The convention theme was Social Transformation – Digital Way. It focused on technology innovation and trend setting initiatives in Academic, Research, Business, Industries, Government, Education, Security, and Health Care for the citizens. Prof.Anirban Basu pointed out that the IT Community has already recognized the benefits of Advanced Computing Technology like Cloud Computing and Big Data Analytics in different areas. He said that CSI aims to build an innovative ecosystem by combining these advanced technologies with the best minds across Academia and Industries for the overall benefits of the common man.
Mr. Jitender Sharma, Director-Wacom India Pvt. Ltd. discussed how Wacom Clipboard is used in paperless workflow for eCourts. Explaining Wacom Clipboard, he said that it is a technology that transfers data from A4 sheet to mobile and also maintains data in both paper and in digital form.
Mr. Anuj Agarwal, CSI Member, discussed Cyber Crime Prosecution. He shared his views on how Cyber Crime is affecting people and also suggested ways to handle any situation if one gets caught in one.
These technical sessions were chaired by Mr. Apoorva Agha, Chair Division-I Systems, CSI Exec Com during “IT in Judiciary”.
The Valedictory Note was presented by Shri Satya Bommireddy, Principal & Managing Director, The Hackett Group.
During the Award Ceremony held on 21st January 2018, chapter level awards were presented by Prof. Nayak, and his team members for various categories such as Chapter Patron Award, Significant Contribution Award, Active participation in youth category, Best regional chapter award and Best Accredited Student Branch award.
Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida was adjudged the “Best Accredited Student Branch” from Region 1 for the year 2016-17. Ms. Shanthi Makka - received the award on behalf of the college.
The convention ended with formal interactions followed by High tea.
