Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized an Alumni Connect Programme on 26th September 2025 titled “Joining the Indian Navy – A Career of Honour and Service to the Nation.” The event featured Lt. Abhishek Singh, a distinguished alumnus from the CSE Department (Batch 2018–2022), who is currently serving in the Indian Navy. The session began with a warm welcome by Director Dr. Sangeeta Mangesh, who commended Lt. Singh for his dedication, achievements, and willingness to guide future aspirants. The programme comprised two sessions—one for first-year students and another for second- and third-year students—focused on career opportunities in the Indian defence sector and the role of technology in national service.
During the first session, Lt. Singh shared his inspiring journey from a student at DGI to becoming a naval officer. He provided insights into the SSB selection process, preparation strategies, and the significance of discipline, fitness, and leadership in achieving success. He also spoke about naval life and training, motivating students to pursue their goals with determination and resilience. The second session catered to senior students, where Lt. Singh emphasized the growing role of engineering, networking, and cybersecurity in naval operations. He detailed various entry routes such as CDS, INET, and NCC Special Entry, explaining the stages of training, postings, and professional growth within the Navy.
The interactive programme served as a valuable source of inspiration, broadening students’ awareness of how engineering knowledge contributes to defence technology and national security. It strengthened the connection between alumni and institution while instilling values of patriotism, discipline, and service. The event concluded on an uplifting note, encouraging students to explore rewarding career paths that unite technical expertise with the noble mission of serving the nation.
