Workshop on Raspberry Pi
24th - 26th September 2025
Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized a 3-day workshop on Raspberry Pi from 24th to 26th September 2025. The workshop was conducted by Sapro Electronics & Electrical (India) Pvt. Ltd. under the coordination of Dr. Pallavi Verma, Associate Professor, ECE/ECZ/EEE Department. A total of 42 students from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year, belonging to the SIH hardware category project group, actively participated in the program.
The workshop aimed at introducing students to single-board computing and embedded systems using Raspberry Pi, providing them with practical exposure to setup, programming, and project development.
The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including an introduction to Raspberry Pi hardware and software architecture, OS installation, Python programming, and GPIO pin interfacing with sensors and actuators. Students engaged in hands-on activities such as installing the Raspbian OS, writing Python scripts, controlling LEDs, interfacing sensors like DHT11, and working with relays and motors.
Students also developed mini-projects like temperature monitoring and LED blinking, which helped them apply theoretical knowledge to real-time applications. Additionally, participants were introduced to the Blynk IoT platform, through which they learned how to remotely control Raspberry Pi-based hardware and monitor sensor data in real-time.
The workshop proved highly beneficial in enhancing students’ technical competencies in embedded systems and IoT. It not only strengthened their programming and hardware interfacing skills but also encouraged innovative thinking through practical project demonstrations.
By the end of the workshop, participants gained confidence in working with Raspberry Pi, laying a strong foundation for future projects and Smart India Hackathon (SIH) problem-solving initiatives.
