Visit to Alpha - I Diksha Charitable School

SMILE (Sharing Moments and Illuminating Lives Everywhere) Club of Dronacharya Group of Institutions organized a visit to Diksha Charitable School located in Alpha - 1, Greater Noida on 27th July 2016 to pay tribute to Ex. President of India, Dr. A.P.J .Abdul Kalam. The objective of the event was to provide necessary items to the under privileged children and enlighten them about the life of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Smile Club coordinators with six faculty members went along for the visit.
Smile Club Coordinator spoke about Ex. President of our country. Dr. Kalam was the 11th President of India. He was born on 15 October 1931 and died on 27th July 2015. He spent the four decades as a scientist and science administrator, mainly at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). He also won Bharat Ratna Award. He loved talking to the students. He was known as the Missile Man in India.
Further faculty members organized a drawing competition where colours and other materials were distributed and children enjoyed the activity conducted. Then the best three drawings made by children were selected and special prize was given to them. A quiz was organized on General Awareness to motivate the students to participate in the activity and enhance their knowledge. Then the children recited the poems they had learnt in the school.
At the end of the visit Smile Club Coordinator distributed gifts to all the children which made them very happy and they all were very excited. The children recited the slogans of Jai Hind Jai Bharat together.
"If you want to shine like a sun, first burn like a sun," APJ Abdul Kalam had said in one of his inspirational speeches. He certainly did.
