India Skills Competitions - 2016 (Skill of Mechatronics) was organized by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at FESTO India Private Limited, Noida on 8th July 2016. The objective of the competition was to promote skill programs being run by Govt. of India through NSDC. Mr. Gaurav Siwal, Assistant Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering, DGI Greater Noida was deputed as a Jury Member for the Zonal Round upon FESTO Invitation.
The event started with registrations of the participants at 9:30 am. 12 students in six teams from different institutions were registered. The competition started with a preliminary written test, in which teams were given 43 objective questions to solve in 45 minutes. The questions were from following topics:
1. System and Control
2. Mechatronics
3. Sensors and Actuators
40 percent was the passing criteria in the test. All six teams qualified in the written test round.
In the next session participants were given a task to design a Pneumatic System for a press forming operation with a provision for automatic ejection of work piece through "motion and circuit diagram" for the system. After completing the diagram they were further instructed to assemble the kit and make it run successfully. KIKI Center for Technology Manesar, Gurgaon team could run the circuit successfully and got selected for the National Level Competition which is scheduled on 16th July 2016 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
