Diwali with My Bharat Programme

NSS Unit, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida under the leadership of Dr. Mamta Bhardwaj (NSS, Programme Officer) actively participated in the nationwide "My Bharat Diwali", a campaign launched by the Government of India to promote community service and national pride. The initiative, which spanned from 27th - 30th October, 2024, encouraged citizens to participate in various activities, including cleanliness drives, social service and cultural programs aligned with the government's vision of a "Viksit Bharat @ 2047"
In collaboration with the Traffic Police, and local hospitals, DGI NSS volunteers embarked on a series of community service activities, aligning with the core principles of Swachhta Hi Seva, Sewa Se Sikho, and Swabhav Swachhta Sanskar Swachhta.
Activities during the campaign:
Traffic Management Assistance: NSS volunteers helped Traffic Police to manage traffic congestion during peak hours. They assisted in directing traffic ensuring smooth flow.
Cleanliness Drive: NSS volunteers organized a comprehensive cleanliness drive nearby areas. They removed litter, cleaned public spaces, and promoted waste segregation and recycling practices. The initiative aimed to create a cleaner and healthier environment.
Hospital Volunteering: Volunteers visited Sarvodaya Hospital and assisted hospital staff in various tasks, such as patient care, administrative work, and maintaining cleanliness. Volunteers also interacted with patients, offering emotional support and spreading cheer.
Distribution of Sweets: Volunteers visited local orphanages and shared sweets and gifts, spreading joy and warmth to those in need.
The initiative brought together students, faculty, and community members in a shared effort to serve society.
