The Emerging Science, Technology, and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC)

Dronacharya group of Institution’s faculty members Prof. (Dr.) SangeetaMangeshKaryakarte (Director–DGI)and Sanghamitra V. Arora (RDC Convenor–DGI)had the opportunity to attend two parallel technical sessions on Digital Communication and Space Technologies in the Emerging Science, Technology, and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC 2025) held in New Delhi from 3rd–5th November 2025.
The event marked a major milestone in India’s scientific progress as Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi launched the Rs. 1 trillion Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund—a transformative initiative led by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) to accelerate private-sector R&D and propel India toward Viksit Bharat 2047. The fund will be managed through a two-tier structure under the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), with a Special Purpose Fund (SPF) dedicated to large-scale RDI programs.
The conclave served as a vibrant platform for interaction among renowned scientists, global leaders, industry experts, young innovators, and policymakers. A key highlight was the profound address by Dr. V. Narayanan (Chairman, ISRO), who outlined India’s forward-looking roadmap in space technology and emphasized the nation’s growing global prominence in the sector.
ESTIC 2025 comprised several impactful components. The Plenary Talks, delivered by Nobel Laureates and distinguished global personalities, set a strategic vision for India’s scientific aspirations for Viksit Bharat @2047. The Thematic Technical Sessions featured invited talks by eminent scientists, policymakers, and deep-tech startup leaders, along with presentations by S&T experts and women entrepreneurs. These sessions fostered high-level knowledge exchange and collaboration. Over35 deep-tech startups showcased breakthrough technologies in the exhibition stalls, while 100 poster presentations by scientists, faculty, and engineers highlighted innovative research across diverse domains.
In the Space Technologies session, chaired by Dr. A. S. Kiran Kumar (Former Secretary, DoS), Dr. V. Narayanan delivered the keynote address, followed by insightful talks from Smt. Jayanthi Bhagatha (CEO, JBI Aerospace) on the role of women-led MSMEs, Dr. Jhon Paul (Mysitech), and Prof. Sanjay Mittal (IIT Kanpur), who discussed advancements in space systems, R&D opportunities, and future mission pathways.
Overall, the ESTIC 2025 Conclave showcased India’s strong commitment to ethical, inclusive, and innovation-driven scientific development. By integrating research with societal advancement and empowering youth, women entrepreneurs, and deep-tech innovators, India continues to position itself as a global leader in technology, scientific excellence, and innovation-led growth.
