National Advisory Committee on Entrepreneurship in Education

Department of Science & Technology convened a meeting of National Advisory Committee of Entrepreneurship in Education at NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore on 08th January, 2015. Meeting was chaired byDr. H K Mittal, Adviser Member Secretary, National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB). The objective of the meeting was to discuss the proposals put forwarded by various institutes for establishment of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) at their campus. Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida was also invited to render presentation of the proposed IEDC before the committee.
Prof. TPN Singh, Advisor R & D and Prof. DV Bhise, Head of the Department, Mechanical Engineering represented DGI, Greater Noida and attended the meeting.
Dr. H C Trivedi, Chairperson, Dr. H. K. Mittal. Member Secy, DST, Mr. Sujit Banerjee, Director, DST, Dr. Geetha Swaminathan, Vice Principal, Stella Maris College, Chennai, Ms. B Bindu, P S G, College & Technology, Member, Dr. Rajendra Jagdale, Director General of Science & Technology Park, DST, Pune Dr. Sunil Shukla, Head, Centre for Entrepreneurship Education, EDI, Ahmedabad, Mr. Pranay Gupta Joint CEO, CIIE, IIM Ahmedabad were the members of selection committee.
The Chairperson Dr. H.C. Trivedi welcomed all the delegates and explained the process of proposal presentation and selection. He emphasized on the quality of innovative projects and their certainty of completion. Mr. Sujit Banerjeeintroduced all the members of the selection committee and provided brief overview of the presentation process.
After the presentation Question Answer Session took place. Questions were mainly pertained to commercialization of projects, Entrepreneurship programs, Entrepreneurship Coordinators experience, IPR policy etc. The committee appreciated the quality of projects and suggested for commercial aspects of the projects. All the projects were discussed for feasibility and usefulness to the society.
The event provided an opportunity to meet academicians from different streams of Engineering & Technology to create a bigger impact of students’ creativity.
