Industry Academia Meet

An Industry Academia Meet was organized by Computer Education & Technology Promotion Association, CETPA, Noida on 6th September 2015. Ms. Gunjeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the meet.
The objective of Industry Academia Meet was to discuss the pertinent issue regarding the gap between industry needs and academic education. The emphasis was also laid on how to bridge this industry and academia gap for the benefit of students which will result in improving the data of qualitative students and avail opportunities to maximum placements.
The conveners of the program welcomed all the corporate and academic guests present there. The event commenced with the sharing of experience amongst industry professionals and academicians. Mr. Vikas Kalra, Director, CETPA along with Mr. Anil Singh, Director Training, CETPA delivered an inspiring speech and discussed on the existing gap between industry and education. Ms. Gayatri from Autodesk also interacted with the participants regarding the issue of industry needs. Mr. Anuj Rai, General Manager, CETPA highlighted the job growth in the market, and also emphasized on lack of technical and professional skills in the graduate students which results in their unemployment. He said that according to The Economic Times, there are 7, 50,000 jobs in Embedded System field and more than 3, 75,000 vacancies in CCNA networking. These vacancies require a quality candidature of the applicants which is rarely found.
The meet continued with the question and answer session for industry professionals and academicians.
The delegates were taken for the campus visit in which the conveners showed the lab setups in the organization.
