The students were again asked to put down their thoughts as to how they would like to see themselves in 15 years’ time. The exercise was conducted to show the difference between their aspirations and would be achievement. In order to gauge the mindset of the students, group of six students each were made to write down six attributes required for a comfortable career choice and to match these with the exactions of the chosen profession. It was emphasized that one’s hobbies can be translated into a lucrative career resulting into passion where work is all play. This would give immense pleasure to the person and he would excel at work and be content all the times. Activities were conducted to imbue team spirit and camaraderie. Team work is order of the day and symbiosis is required for creating synergy.
The students interacted and responded with great enthusiasm in the second session in “Face the Boss” in which they were asked to pair up and handle a complex situation. The objective was to develop managerial skills, listening and organizing to work with others. The students were explained the concept of S.MA.R.T (Specific – Measurable – Achievable – Realistic - Time bound) and action plans were formulated for vision, mission and goal.
Time management, Communication and Project management were dealt with in detail. Students documented their strengths and weakness and were shown how to meet deadlines. Three career options were explained i.e. higher studies, work and entrepreneurship. Action plan for each was made through activities and discussed.
