International Yoga Day

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word 'Yoga' is derived from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. Today it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity.
Commemorating the International Yoga Day, the NSS Wing of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a Yoga Session in association with "Art of Living" Center on 21st June 2019 for the students, teachers and staff members of the college. The main aim of this program was to inculcate the habit of Yoga & Meditation amongst citizens of the society so that they can enjoy peace of mind and self-awareness which is the essence for a tension-free existence. More than 100 people participated in this program.
The session started with the floral welcome of Ms. Ragini Singh, a Ministry of Ayush certified Yoga Expert from Sri Sri School of Yoga, Bangalore by Prof Ashish Soti, Director, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. After floral welcome, Prof. Soti addressed the audience and emphasized upon healthy development of mind, body and soul by mastering certain yoga postures. He also pointed out that everyone must practice yoga and make it a part of their daily routine in order to get a strong, flexible and energetic body.
After the welcome address of Prof. Soti, Ms. Ragini Singh, Yoga Teacher started the session. She demonstrated various asanas such as neck movement, trunk movement, knee movement, urdtadasan, trikonassan, urdchakrasan, vajrasan, shashkassan, urdhmachundrasan, padahastasan, urdhhastasan, shetubhadasan, pawanpuktasan, shawasan to the students, teachers and staff members of the college. She also explained the manner in which Yoga should be done, the precautions to be taken and its effect on the body and mind.
After the conclusion of the Yoga session, Ms. Ragini was presented with a memento by Prof. Ashish Soti.
