DRON-CODEATHON–2026 (2nd Edition)”

Department of Computer Science & Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), in association with the Research and Development Cell (RDC) and Google Developers Group (GDG) at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, successfully organized “DRON-CODEATHON-2026 (2nd Edition)” on 7th February 2026. The event was conducted as an eight-hour hackathon aimed at promoting innovation, creativity, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving skills among students. The inaugural ceremony was held at 08:30 AM in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Mangesh, Director of the institution, along with Prof. Ram Gopal Sharma, Head of CSE-AIML, faculty members, and enthusiastic participants. The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. Vivek Krishna Misra, Assistant Professor, CSE-AIML.
The hackathon witnessed participation from more than 180 students forming 52 teams across various departments. Each team, comprising up to four members, presented innovative ideas addressing real-world challenges. The primary objectives of the event were to enhance coding and technical skills, encourage teamwork and communication, develop time-management abilities, and bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical implementation. The competition also aimed to expose students to hackathon culture and industry-oriented project development.
The event was conducted in two rounds. During the first round, teams pitched their project ideas before an internal panel of judges and were evaluated based on innovation, technical feasibility, problem-solving impact, and presentation skills. The top 15 teams were shortlisted for the final round, where they worked intensively on project implementation and refinement. The final evaluation was carried out by industry experts and alumni, including Mr. Mayank Maheshwari (WNS Global India Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Abishek Dwivedi (Adobe), and Mr. Nripendra Mishra (Wipro Technologies), who assessed the projects on innovation, scalability, execution, and user experience.
The competition concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in which the top three teams were awarded Certificates of Excellence along with the Winner’s Cup, while all participants received e-certificates. The event was smoothly conducted with the support of faculty members and organizing staff, and technical arrangements were efficiently managed to ensure uninterrupted execution. The disciplined environment and enthusiastic participation contributed significantly to the success of the program.
Overall, DRON-CODEATHON-2026 (2nd Edition) proved to be a highly impactful and enriching initiative. It provided students with valuable exposure to real-world problem-solving, strengthened their technical and presentation skills, and enhanced their confidence and teamwork abilities. The event successfully promoted experiential learning and innovation, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to skill-based education and academic excellence.
