National Conference on Safety of Women at Workplace 2026

Prof. Manu Sharma, Chairperson of the Internal Committee; Prof. Vaishali Mogha and Prof. Priyanka Asthana, Members of the Internal Committee; and Prof. Harshita Rawat, Additional Female Officer, represented Dronacharya Group of Institutions at the conference held on 14th February 2026 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Their participation underscored the institution’s strong commitment to ensuring a safe, respectful, and gender-sensitive workplace environment.
The conference aimed to strengthen the implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) and to reinforce institutional compliance mechanisms across organisations in India. The central theme focused on creating harassment-free work environments supported by robust legal provisions and digital frameworks.The deliberations highlighted the importance of enhancing awareness of the POSH Act, improving institutional accountability, expanding accessible grievance redressal systems, and encouraging the adoption of best practices at both national and international levels.
Several significant initiatives were launched during the conference to strengthen monitoring and compliance. The official logo of the She-Box platform was unveiled to enhance its visibility and outreach. A PoSH Voluntary Compliance Checklist was introduced to help organisations assess their preparedness and adherence to safety norms. The integration of She-Box with the Mission Shakti Mobile App was announced to streamline complaint registration and improve accessibility. Additionally, the Karmayogi Bharat PoSH training link was incorporated into the platform to build the capacity of officials responsible for compliance, and a National Workplace Safety Pledge was administered to institutionalise collective commitment toward women’s safety.
Addressing the gathering, Annapurna Devi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, emphasised that workplace safety is fundamental to women’s empowerment and economic participation, and that it is essential for justice, equality, and national development. She highlighted that initiatives such as She-Box promote confidentiality, transparency, and accountability in grievance redressal. Shri Anil Malik, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, informed participants that more than 1.5 lakh workplaces have been onboarded on the She-Box platform and that Local Committees are operational in every district, strengthening the nationwide safety framework.
The conference witnessed wide participation from senior government officials, policymakers, Internal and Local Committee members, representatives of international organisations, industry leaders, civil society members, and media personnel.Overall, the event marked a significant institutional milestone, moving beyond policy dialogue to introduce actionable tools, digital integrations, and compliance mechanisms aimed at fostering sustainable behavioural and cultural transformation in workplaces across India.
