35th IIRS Outreach Programme On
Advance Geospatial Modeling Tools & Techniques
6th - 10th August 2018
35th IIRS Outreach Programme on Advance Geospatial Modeling Tools & Techniques was conducted by Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) Derhadun during 6th August – 10th August, 2018. This Outreach Program was organized at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida through A-View.
6th August 2018
The Outreach Programme started on 6th August 2018 with a brief introduction by Dr. Sameer Saran, Scientist- SF & Head, IIRS.
Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Jha, Scientist – IIRS started the first session with a discussion on Spatial Modeling and its analysis with descriptive modeling and predictive modeling. He focused on Modeling Spatial Problems, geospatial modeling techniques trend, spatio- temporal modeling with brief description on simple evolution models and local dynamics models.
7th August 2018
Mr. Jha described model prediction, kinds of spatial model, universal spatial model of variation, spatial error model, deterministic tread surface analysis and spatial auto correlation for residual spatial error model. During his session, Mr. Jha also covered “Agent Based Spatial Modeling”. He briefly explained agent’s behavioral property, cellular automata and its adaptation.
8th August
Mr. Shiva Reddy Koti, Scientist - IIRS discussed “Prospective and Retrospective Analysis of Spatio- temporal data. He explained Moute-Carlo simulation for signification test, Bernoulli Process, Spatio-temporal scan statistics, and prospective verses retrospective study.
9th August
Shri. Prabhaker Alok Verma, Scientist-IIRS conducted a session on “Exploring Point Data and Geospatial Modeling”. He discussed the methods of frequency distribution. The pros and cons of quadrant analysis were also explained. He concluded his session with a discussion on Kriging.
10th August
The last session of the Outreach Program was conducted by
Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Jha on
“Model Performance Measures and Framework”.
He discussed the confusion matrix. He also briefly explained
Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve and concluded with a discussion on
Kelormorgorov Smirnov Test.
