Dr. Abdul Kalam Sports Fest, 2019-20

Dronacharya Group Of Institutions, Greater Noida, organized Zonal Sports Fest 2019-20 which was conducted by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow scheduled from 24th - 26th September, 2019 with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The three-day carnival witnessed amazing enthusiasm and sportsmanship amongst the participants.
The candidates from 23 colleges registered in different categories of on-going sports events. Which are APEEJAY 088, IEC 090, JSS 091, RAMEESH 093, GALGOTIA 097,NIET BTECH 133, IILM 150, SKYLINE 153, LLYOD 172, GL BAJAJ 192, UNITED 193, RAKSHPAL211,ITS222 ,DRONACHARYA 230,GNIOT MBA 272 ,KCC 492 ,MANGALMAYA 786 ,NIET PHARMACY 908,ACCURATE MBA, ACCURATE BTECH ,VISHVESHVARAIYA 096 ,IIMT,GNIOT BTECH.
The sports fest involved 19 events having different categories of games and each game was supervised by a faculty coordinator.
The inauguration of this Three day sports Fest was marked by floral welcome of Chief Guest Mr. Yogesh Bhati (Bronze medallist in Asian Wrestling Championship, Indian wrestlers) by Prof. Ashish Soti (Director- Dronacharya Group of institutions, Greater Noida). After this all the participants were feeling proud to hear Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University Kulgeet. Dr.S.K.Srivastava (Aktu zonal Sports DGI, Gr.Noida Coordinator) gave a brief discussion about zonal sports fest 2019.He said that sports propagates the spirit of sportsmanship and emphasizes the importance of teamwork, spirit and harmony. He also said that AKTU Zonal Sport fest 2019 holds an athletic(100m,200m,400m, 800m,1500m,4x100m relay,4x400m relay, long jump, high jump, Discus Throw, shot put, javelin) (M/F), Badminton (F/M), Basketball (F/M), Chess (M/F) .KHO-KHO (F) Football (M), Table Tennis (M/F) .Volleyball (F/M), and Kabaddi (M).
Prof. Ashish Soti (Director- Dronacharya Group of institutions Greater Noida). Welcoming the esteemed gathering and emphasised on the importance of sports in a student’s life with their encouraging words. He stated that “True Sportsmanship is to accept that you need your opponent without whom there is no game”. He also gave his thanks to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow for providing us an opportunity to conduct the Zonal Sports. He also gave thanks to other college sports coordinators. He further emphasized that an opponent in a sports event holds the same deep-rooted aspiration and expectation as that of his counterpart. At the same time, he keeps in mind that, irrespective of winning or losing the game a sportsman has to walk off with pride to sustain the sportsmanship spirit. This was followed by oath ceremony and National Anthem.
After National Anthem, Director Prof. Ashish Soti and chief guest Mr. Yogesh Bhati declared the beginning of AKTU Zonal Sports Fest 2019 by releasing colour full balloons in the sky.
On the first day of the tournament, various sporting events were held which witnessed large participation and tremendous enthusiasm among the students community.
At the end of the third day the winners were felicitated with certificates, medals and trophy distributed by the guest Mr. Prabhat Kumar Rao (Assistant Professor) Faculty of Architecture AKTU Lucknow and honourable Director of the college. Prof. Ashish Soti (Director- Dronacharya Group of institutions Greater Noida) encouraged the audience with his motivational words and declared the end of ceremony. This competition rendered a sporting environment full of fun and mutual bonds.
