Industrial visit to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd

An Industrial visit to Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd. for First Year B.Tech students was organized on 26th September 2019 by the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. 36 students along with Mr. Lalit Aditya Kaushal Assistant Professor of Applied Sciences and Humanities Department went for this technical excursion.
The prominent objective of the visit was to incorporate the basic ideas about the significance of Probiotics and how to pragmatise it.
The visit was initiated with a presentation which started with the Emergency Exit plan of the area as it is a part of the organisation's OHSAS certification programme followed by another presentation by a Yakult professional who discussed the epistomelogy and etymology of the product including its scope, validity and market status. Ms. Yamini Prajapati explained how the journey of Yakult Danone Pvt. Ltd began in 1930 with Dr. Minoru Shirota, who conducted research in a Microbiological lab at the Medical Faculty of Kyoto in Japan. He was the first person in the world to attain success in it. The bacterium was named "Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain".
Students proceeded for the next phase in which they witnessed the steps performed in the process of manufacturing of Yakult probiotic health drink. Queries raised by the students were attended to by Ms. Yamini Prajapati.
The last interactive session was held with regard to the difference in yakult's packaging of the product in different countries. The involvement and the discussion signified great interest of the students in understanding the procedure. The importance of the Research & Development cell in judging the quality of the product attracted the students.
