Awareness program on
"Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development"

MSME conducted an Awareness program on "Support for Entrepreneurial and Managerial Development of MSMEs through incubators" at DGI, Greater Noida on 6th September 2019. The objective was to promote and support untapped creativity of individual and to promote adoption of latest technologies in manufacturing as well as knowledge based innovative MSME ventures. Following dignitaries graced the occasion :

Prof. (Dr.) Ashish Soti, Director, DGI welcomed the guests and motivated the students to be innovative and creative. Routine work will not make anyone successful and thinking out of box is required. Students should be thoughtful and look for opportunities to exploit new findings. Theoretical aspects of engineering must be translated into live products and systems for benefit of society.
Prof. TPN Singh, Advisor (R&D) impressed upon the students to be always inquisitive and search for solutions to overcome problems. Action must be taken at the appropriate time lest doom will take over. Kodak, one of the giant companies of the world employing more than 80,000 personnel had to close down and declare bankruptcy as it did not embrace digital photography in time.
Mr. Vijay Kumar gave the key note address and explained the awareness program which was basically to sensitize and create awareness amongst MSMEs and students about the benefits of various schemes which shall be funded by GOI. The various stakeholders like MSME, Engineering colleges, Technical institutes,R&D Institutes etc. should evolve strategies for solving problems arising during execution of technical activities undertaken through the schemes. Workshops will be organized by NMIU/IA with involvement of various stakeholders which shall be funded by MSMEs. GOI Grant in aid support will be provided to approved Host Institutes for incubation related defined activities.
Mr. Neeraj Sharma explained the various schemes in detail and the process of registration of Institute as Host Institute to set up Business Incubator. The host Institutes should encourage participation from women/SC/ST candidates for inclusive implementation of scheme. Host Institutes will also be provided grant for procurement and installation of plant and machinery including hardware and software. Grant in aid will also be provided for developing and nurturing ideas. Assistance will also be given as seed capital to deserving incubatees.A national monitoring and implementation unit (NMIU) shall be set up in the office of DC(MSME) for facilitation, implementation and monitoring of the scheme involving Implementing agencies. Portals will be developed online for proposals to be submitted to Implementing Agencies who after due vetting will put up to PMAS through NMIU for consideration and approval.
Mr. V. K. Jain gave detailed analysis of Intellectual Property rights. He described the various types of IPR and the importance of Patenting. The entire procedure of applying for patent and addressing the observations were explained by him.
