One Day Workshop on eSim
(First Course in the IoT Series for Teachers)
21st September 2019
A one day Workshop on eSim, first course in the IoT series for teachers was conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, on 21st September 2019 at Dronacharya Group of Institution, Greater Noida through A - View. The workshop was meant for faculties from technical institutions to enhance the skills which in turn would be beneficial for students. The workshop was organized under the aegis of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
36 participants from technical institutions across the state participated in this workshop which was coordinated by Mr. Probeer Sahw, Assistant Professor and HOD-ECE & EEE, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida (RC-1316).
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Kannan Moudgalya, Principal Investigator, PMMMNMTT, IIT Bombay and Prof. Pramod Murali, Faculty, IIT Bombay. Prof. Moudgalya, during his brief on the workshop, said that eSim is an open source EDA tool for circuit design, simulation, analysis and PCB design. He added that this workshop is the first course in the IoT series which will be followed by workshops on Arduino and PLC. Prof. Moudgalya briefly described the role of simulation and impact of simulation on the current industry. He had assigned the task to perform the simulation on eSim and verify with the hardware module.
After the inaugural session the participants attended the lab session in which they performed various tasks using eSim. They created circuit schematic and performed simulations of basic electronic circuits. They were provided with Astable Multivibrator hardware on which they performed certain experiment and ran simulation using eSim. Participants than verified the simulation results using the hardware. The entire session was conducted by side-by-side learning method.
The workshop ended with a doubt clearing session by IIT-Bombay FOSSEE Team through A-VIEW.
