TOI - Vice Chancellor Conclave 2019

The Vice Chancellor Conclave - 2019 was organized by the National Daily, Times of India on 30th September 2019 at Shangri-La Hotel, New Delhi. The theme of conclave was Industry 4.0 giving way to an Educational Revolution. The eminent personalities Including Vice Chancellors, Professors, Directors and Researchers of several universities attended the conclave.
Dr. Azad Singh, Faculty from Department of Management Studies, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida and MBA student Ms. Mahima Narula attend the Conclave on behalf of DGI.
The conclave started with the Welcome Address by Mr. Saurav Mukherjee - Director, The Times of India who briefed the audience about the recent scenario in higher education in India. As the Chief Guest, Shri Manish Sisodia, Education Minister, Govt. of Delhi, expressed his views about New Education Policy on which the Government is working currently.
Mr. Amitabh Jinghan, (Partner, EY-Parthenon) moderated the 1st Panel Discussion on Education 4.0 : The future of Higher Education. The panelists included :

Ms. Priyanka Srivastava (Sr. Editor, Education Times) moderated the 2nd Panel Discussion on the theme- Digitalization and Internationalization of Education. The panelists included :

The panelists for the 3rd Panel Discussion on Skilling, Reskilling, Upskilling-Aligned to Industry 4.0 included :

Ms. Sharmila Katre emphasized on the urgent need to focus on academic and Industrial gap which is responsible for huge unemployment in recent days. The panelists were of the view that major concern in research segment is skilling. Every institution need to go beyond the regular academic curriculum and should emphasize on Design Thinking. The panelists also focused on how to make Academia Industry oriented and vice versa and suggested that there should be a common cloud-based infrastructure. They stressed upon the need to incorporate skill-based education to bridge the employability skill gap.
The conclave ended with the Vote of Thanks.
