Inauguration of ASHRAE Student Branch

Dronacharya Group of Institutions (DGI) has always been at the forefront of fostering academic excellence and technical advancements. As a significant step towards enriching the learning environment and enhancing the professional development of students, the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Student Branch was officially chartered at the DGI campus on 09th January 2025. This milestone aligns with DGI's vision of promoting industry-academia collaboration and equipping students with the tools to excel in the fields of HVAC&R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) and sustainable building technologies.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and industry professionals. Distinguished guests, including representatives from ASHRAE India Chapter, graced the occasion to mark this significant event. The event commenced with a formal welcome by Dr. Arpita Gupta, Director DGI, who highlighted the importance of ASHRAE in shaping the future of engineering disciplines related to building technologies. The ASHRAE Student Branch was officially inaugurated with unveiling the chapter logo by the vice president of ASHRAE India Chapter- Mr. Abhishek Jain, followed by oath taking ceremony presided by Dr. Rajinder Singh, Chair- Student Activities. The student office bearers of the chapter were introduced and officially sworn in. The newly formed executive committee, under the guidance of Mr. Ankur Sachdeva as Faculty Advisor and Dr. Saket Kumar as Co-Advisor, took an oath to lead the chapter activities with dedication and commitment. Dr. Rajinder Singh, Chair- Student Activities emphasized the role of ASHRAE in driving global sustainability initiatives and encouraged students to actively participate in chapter activities. Mr. Abhishek Jain the vice president of ASHRAE India Chapter elaborated on the benefits of having an ASHRAE chapter and its impact on student development. Students were introduced to the benefits of ASHRAE membership, including access to technical resources, mentorship opportunities, and scholarships.
The inauguration of the ASHRAE Student Chapter at the Dronacharya Group of Institutions marks a new chapter in the institution’s journey toward academic and professional excellence. This initiative will empower students to stay updated with industry trends, develop technical expertise, and contribute to sustainable solutions for the built environment. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh, HOD ME, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, newly inducted members, and faculties for making the event a success.
