3rd Open Forum: India’s Idea Leadership Talk Series

27th December 2016

Dr. Abhay Jere, Secretary, Organizing Committee, Smart India Hackathon 2017 organized the third ‘Open Forum’ for the SPOCs and students of participating institutes. The Open Forum is a part of ‘India’s Idea Leadership Talk Series’ which was successfully launched on 16th December 2016 with the first leadership talk by Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE and Chairman, Organizing Committee, Smart India Hackathon 2017 over Facebook Live.

The event was broadcast live at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida. It was attended by the participants as well as other students.

Apart from recalling all the points of discussion from the previous sessions, in his address, Dr. Jere, added that all six members of the team should preferably be able to code. He also suggested that students from First and Second Year must be encouraged to participate. He cited the example of Pune Hackathon 2015 where the students from First and Second Year of study beat the senior students to emerge winners.

The event ended with the Q & A session. While answering the question of one of the participants Dr. Jere said that the travel expenses of the participants will be borne by AICTE for the Final of Smart India Hackathon 2017. He also suggested that in case any solution to the problem statement requires any hardware, the cost are to be borne by the participants themselves. He advised all the participants not to miss the deadline for submission of proposal.
