Networking and Communication Protocols for Engineers
26th May 2023
ISTE Student Chapter, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a workshop on “Networking and Communication Protocols for Engineers” on 26th May 2023. Dr. Pallavi Verma conducted the workshop. 78 students attended the workshop.
The session aimed to provide students with practical knowledge of networking concepts, the importance of communication protocols, and their role in modern engineering applications.
Dr. Pallavi Verma started the session with an overview of networking basics, including network types, topologies, and architectures. The importance of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, and others in ensuring efficient data transmission across networks was discussed in detail.
Continuing the sessions, Dr. Pallavi explained some advanced topics like network security, routing protocols, and the role of protocols in emerging technologies such as IoT (Internet of Things) and cloud computing. She shared some real-world examples to illustrate how these protocols are applied in various engineering domains.
Interactive discussions and hands-on activities were integrated into the session to provide students with practical exposure to configuring networks and understanding protocol behavior. Students were encouraged to ask questions, and the speaker provided clear and detailed explanations to ensure conceptual clarity.
The session equipped students with valuable knowledge that will enhance their academic learning and professional competencies.
