INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS

ASCENT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, GREATER NOIDA

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized a Spoken Tutorial Lecture on "Introduction to Computers" at Ascent International School on 7th January, 2016. The objective of the Lecture was to create awareness about "Internet, Google Drive" and motivate students to participate in Spoken Tutorial.

Ms. Shivangi Maheshwari, Spoken Tutorial DGI Coordinator and Dr. Sarika Agarwal, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department conducted the session. 13 students and 7 teachers of the school had attended the lecture.

Dr. Sarika Agarwal commenced the lecture with the "Introduction to Spoken Tutorials". She emphasized on the benefits of spoken tutorial and its courses to the students and explained the procedure to get training and certification from IIT Bombay.

The next session was taken by Ms. Shivangi Maheshwari on Introduction to Computers. She demonstrated the basics of computers like various hardware and software compoents. In next session, she discussed "How to create Gmail account?, "Compose the mail and usage of mail features" like difference between 'To', 'Cc' and 'Bcc'.

The lecture was followed with a session on Google Drive. Ms. Maheshwari explained the "Need of Google Drive, How to upload and share the data". She also discussed how to create Google Docs, Google Slides and Google Spreadsheet.

The session concluded with a summary of the lecture taken by Ms. Shivangi Maheshwari and Dr. Sarika Agarwal followed by the question answer round. Ms. Maheshwari encourage the students to enroll for Spoken Tutorial and enhance their computer knowledge. The Program was very interactive and educative for all the participants.
