Interactive Session on NSQF: The Framework and its Application in Sector Skills Council

An interactive session was held on National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Gurgaon on 17th June 2015. The purpose of this session was to discuss about sector skill development and its implementation in our country. Mr. Anurag Sharma, Faculty, Department of Mechanical Engineering, DGI, Greater Noida attended the session.
The session started with welcome remarks by Mr. Jayant Krishna, Co-Chairman, Special Task Force on Skills Education and Entrepreneurship Development. The need of sector skill development and present status of vocational training were conveyed to audiences. Mr. Jayant Krishna discussed about dropouts in the education system for different classes in India and absence of mobility in the education system of country.
In next session Mr. Ajay Goel, Vice President, Industry and Academic Interface Wadhwani Foundation discussed about NSQF-A Perspective. The provisions, understanding and levels of competency were discussed in brief. The idea of outcome based learning, levels and sector skill council’s role for maintaining the mainstream skills for employment were conveyed with nice examples.
Later Mr. Ashish Jain, CEO, Healthcare sector skill council discussed various Applications of SSC Leveraging scheme/s to promote Skill Development. National occupational standards and Qualification Packs for respective standards along with milestones of Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC) and key factors of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) were discussed thoroughly. The session ended with QA from audience.
Mr. Jayant Krishna summarized the whole session and delivered the Vote of Thanks.
