Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noidain collaboration with ICT Academy and Microsoft Philanthropies organized “The Cyber-Security Training Program” from 3rd - 22nd February 2025.
The program aimed to equip participants with essential cyber-security knowledge tools and best practices to strengthen their digital security skills and enhance employability in the growing cyber-security domain.
The Cyber Security Training Program, a collaborative initiative supported by ICT Academy and Microsoft Philanthropies was meticulously structured to equip both faculty and students with essential cyber security competencies. The program was rolled out in sequential phases each with clear objectives and impactful outcomes.
An orientation session marked the formal launch of the program and was led by distinguished leaders—Mr. Srikanth (CEO), Mr. Suresh Babu (CSR Head), Mr. Saravanan (Academic Head), Mr. Venkatesh (Training Head), and Mr. Narendra (Quality and Audit Head). They shared the vision, objectives, and broader impact of the initiative with participants.
The initiative commenced with the nomination of 7 to 8 faculty members from circuit branch departments by the institution. These faculty members participated in a 40-hour Faculty Development Program delivered virtually by ICT Academy. Active engagement was emphasized with a minimum of 90% attendance required. Upon successful completion of the training faculty members were assessed and awarded certifications enabling them to serve as in-house trainers for student participants.
Building on this foundation, the institution selected 120 undergraduate students from the 2025 graduating batch, maintaining a balanced representation of 60 male and 60 female students. These students undertook a 100-hour intensive Cyber Security training program conducted physically on campus. The initial 30 hours of training were facilitated by the certified faculty ensuring continuity and familiarity for the students while also fostering a mentorship-driven learning environment.Core topics covered in the training included Network Security Threats and Countermeasures, Cryptography, and Web Server and Application Security.
Following this phase, an assessment was conducted to evaluate the students’ understanding of the concepts and practical skills. Based on the results, 60 students (equally divided between male and female participants) were shortlisted for an advanced phase of training. This 70-hour advanced module was delivered on campus by seasoned trainers from ICT Academy. The final training phase culminated in a comprehensive assessment, and successful participants were certified based on their overall performance.
Throughout the training journey, learners experienced a dynamic blend of expert-led sessions, practical labs, and interactive workshops. Industry professionals and certified trainers from ICT Academy and Microsoft Philanthropies delivered insightful lectures and facilitated hands-on learning experiences. Real-time simulation labs provided exposure to key areas such as network security, threat intelligence, malware analysis, and ethical hacking. Additionally, engaging workshops were conducted on secure coding practices, cloud security, and data protection strategies.
The program concluded with assessments that tested theoretical understanding, practical application, and problem-solving abilities through quizzes, hands-on tasks, and final evaluations. Participants who met the evaluation criteria were awarded certifications, validating their newly acquired skills.
