AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Faculty Development Program (FDP)
On "Advanced Cyber Security - Research Theoretical and Practical Approach."

Mr. Aman Sanghi, Assistant Professor, ECE Department, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Advanced Cyber Security - Research Theoretical and Practical Approach" from 3rd -15th February 2025 organized at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi. The event coordinators are Dr. Karan Singh & Dr. D.K. Lobiyal. The FDP witnessed active participation from faculty members, researchers, industry professionals and students from across the country.
The FDP aimed to equip participants with in-depth knowledge of cyber security, integrating both theoretical research insights and hands-on practical applications.
The objectives of the FDP were:
- To enhance understanding of cyber security fundamentals and emerging threats.
- To introduce participants to advanced research methodologies in cyber security.
- To provide practical exposure to cyber security tools and techniques.
- To foster collaboration among academicians, researchers, and industry experts.
The FDP featured expert sessions from distinguished speakers, covering a range of topics, including:
- Cyber Threats and Mitigation Strategies– Discussion on modern cyber threats and effective countermeasures.
- Cryptographic Techniques and Applications– Exploring encryption, decryption, and secure communication.
- Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing– Hands-on training on ethical hacking techniques.
- Artificial Intelligence in Cyber Security– Role of AI and machine learning in detecting cyber threats.
- Block chain for Secure Transactions– Understanding block chain technology and its applications in cyber security.
- Cloud Security and Data Privacy– Addressing security challenges in cloud computing.
- Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Cyber Security– Overview of national and international cyber laws.
Hands-on Training and Practical Exposure
Participants were provided with practical training on various cyber security tools, including:
- Kali Linux for penetration testing
- Wireshark for network security analysis
- Digital Forensic & Intelligence vulnerability assessment
- Linux scripting for cyber security applications on firewall.
Industry Visit
As part of the Faculty Development Program, all the participants visited the Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit under the Delhi Police Special Cell and 3rd Eye Techno Solutions, a leading digital forensics company. The visits provided insights into cyber digital forensic, digital investigations, cyber security threats, and industry applications.
Interactive Q&A sessions, panel discussions and group activities enriched the learning experience
Outcomes and Conclusion
The FDP successfully provided a comprehensive understanding of advanced cyber security concepts, blending theoretical insights with real-world applications. Participants gained valuable knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to integrate cyber security best practices in their teaching, research, and professional endeavors.
The program concluded with a valedictory session, where participants received certificates and shared their feedback, highlighting the relevance and effectiveness of the FDP.
