An Industrial Visit to EVEREADY

An Industrial Visit to EVEREADY, Noida was organized by ISTE Student Chapter for the students of Applied Sciences and Humanities Department, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 4th October 2016. 39 students of B.Tech (CSE) First Year went for the visit along with Dr. Abhishek Swami, HOD (APS).The objective of this industrial visit was to help students gain practical knowledge about the management practices being followed at EVEREADY.

Mr. S.K.Saini, Engineer in Chief, Eveready, welcomed the students at the plant. The students were divided into two groups for the visit to plant with the Tour Coordinator, Mr. Rakesh. He explained various stages of production and packaging where most of the products were being manufactured with the help of automatic machines and conveyor belts. He explained different manufacturing units of batteries i.e. mixing unit, storage tank, dissolving tank, injection moulding room, printing machine, filling machine / sealing machine, packaging machine etc.

After the visit to the production unit, the students were taken to the Seminar Hall, where Mr. Rakesh, gave a presentation on zinc - carbon battery. He showed how batteries are conveniently packaged in a zinc can which also serves as the anode with a negative potential, while the inert carbon rod is the positive cathode.

The visit came to an end at 3:00 PM. It was a fruitful visit which provided an opportunity for the students to acquire knowledge regarding the battery manufacturing.
