"Virtual Lab Workshop" Conducted By IIT, Delhi

Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida in association with IIT Delhi organized a workshop "Virtual Lab" on 25th October, 2016 with an objective to create awareness of Virtual Labs and its importance among students. Mr. Sajeev Soni, System Analyst V Lab Mentor, IIT Delhi , Mr. Prateek Sharma, Field Engineer V Lab Mentor, IIT Delhi and Mr. Ashish Ranjan, Field Engineer V Lab Mentor, IIT Delhi were the resource persons for the workshop. 242 students of B.Tech 1st and 2nd Year attended the workshop.
The event began with the floral welcome of Mr. Sajeev Soni, Mr. Prateek Sharma and Mr. Ashish Ranjan by Prof. S.K. Bagga, Director, DGI, Greater Noida, and Prof. B. L. Kaul, Registrar, DGI, Greater Noida. During the welcome address Prof. Dr. S.K. Bagga, stated that virtual Lab would be of great use for students from all the fields. He also focused on advantages of Virtual Lab.
Mr. Vinod Kumar, Virtual Lab Coordinator gave brief description about the Virtual lab. He also demonstrated the practical application of Virtual Lab.
First Technical Session began with the presentation on "Overview of National impact of Virtual Lab on students and teachers" by Mr. Sajeev Soni. He also discussed the daily usage and benefits of Virtual Labs. He explained the role and importance of Virtual Labs for bridging the gap between the syllabi of Technical Universities and existing Labs. He demonstrated experiment of Physics and Basic C Programming (Array, String etc) for 1st year students. After this, students performed the practical and provided online feedback.
In the second session , Mr. Prateek Sharma demonstrated experiments of Data Structure, Computer Programming and Digital electronics like Expression Evaluation using Stacks, Sorting using Arrays, Basic Control Flow and circuit designing and current flow for 2nd Year students.
Later, Mr. Ashish Ranjan demonstrated experiments of Chemistry and Physics like Acid Base Titration and Photo Electric Effect for the students of 1st year. He also discussed the application of Virtual lab in first year courses. Online feedbacks were sought by the students.
The session came to an end with a series of questions from the participants, which were answered by the experts. The workshop came to an end with group photograph and presentation of memento to the resource persons by Honorable Director, Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Bagga.
