THE SWEDEN INDIA NOBEL MEMORIAL QUIZ 2016

The Embassy of Sweden organized 'The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz' at Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi on 7th October 2016. 21 Students from first year branch of ECE, EEE and CSIT along with Ms. Anuja Sahni, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida spiritedly participated in the event. The quiz series was a part of the 'Sweden India Nobel Memorial Week', now in its tenth year.
The broad theme of the quiz included everything based on Alfred Nobel, the Nobel Prize, Nobel Laureates, innovations and inventions of Swedish people and Sweden in general. Members of the winning team were supposed to get to go for a week - long visit to Sweden further visiting Swedish companies, universities and the Nobel Museum.
The quiz was open to all Indian students currently enrolled at a college/university in India. Students were required to form a 'Three - member team' each in order to participate. The quiz comprised of a preliminary written round, followed by an on stage finale covering a total time of approximately three hours. Author quizmasters Mr. Kunal Savarkar and Ms. Seema Chari conducted the quiz. Students from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) emerged as winners, leaving the rest miles behind. The entire event was a good learning experience for the students.
Swati Sethi, a first year student from branch CSIT won a 'Gift hamper' for answering to the questions posed to the audience along with Rati Kumar Jha and Shweta Pathak from CSE first year. The students were also applauded for dressing in the 'Swedish Colors'.
