FDP ON HUMAN VALUES AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS

Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow organized a Faculty Development Programme on Human Values & Professional Ethics from 24th - 31st May 2016 at HCST Mathura. Ms. Ragini Tiwari, Management Department, Dronacharya Group of Institutions attended the FDP.
Day 1: 24/05/2016
The FDP was inaugurated by Prof. Rajeev Kumar Upadhyay, Director, HCST in the august presence of Prof. Ajay Shukla, Chief Guest, Editor, Hindustan Times, Prof. V K Sharma, Executive Director, HCST and Prof. Pradeep Mehta, Vice President, SGI on 24th May 2016.
Prof. Mamta Sharma, Convener of the Program welcomed the guests, Resource Persons Prof. Gopal Babu, Dr. Upasana Mishra and the participants.
Prof. Gopal Babu highlighted the concept of value education and its necessity in the modern days. He said that both the human values and technical values are important and necessary for individuals.
Dr. Upasana Mishra shared her views on the importance of human values in our daily life highlighting:
1. Value of education
2. Importance of a happy life.
In the next session Prof. Babu delivered the introduction of Human Values & Professional Ethics. He said that role of education in holistic development of a person is the main aim of the HVPE and discussed the contents of the workshop. He focused on developing the right understanding of oneself through self - exploration and realization of the inherent attributes like co-existence, harmony and self - regulation.
The last session of the day was a query session, in which questions raised by the participants were answered by Prof. Babu.In the end of the session group discussion was conducted on the topic Natural Acceptance.
Day 2: 25/05/2016
Prof. Babu discussed the concept of Education & Sanskar. He said that "The role of education is to facilitate the development of the competence to live with proper human conduct".
Prof. Babu elaborated on the theory of self - exploration and discussed on the sources of happiness. Later group discussion was held on the topic "Self-Exploration".
Day 3: 26/05/2016
Prof. Babu focused on the concept of prosperity. He described the feeling of having more than required is physical facility. We must identify the need of the physical facilities and prevent acquiring more than what is actually required.
Later Prof. Babu discussed the difference amongst consumption, lot of consumption and over consumption. He focused on the activity in the form of preconditioning and the natural acceptance.
The session was ended with the presentation on harmony in family.
Day 4: 27/05/2016
Prof. Babu shared his views on desire, thoughts and expectation. He said that desire is connected with imagination, thoughts are connected with analyzing and the expectations are connected with selecting/testing.
Prof. Babu detailed 9 factors as mentioned below, on feeling in relationship:
1. Trust (Intention /competence)
2. Respect (Right Evaluation)
3. Affection
4. Car
5. Guidance
6. Reverence
7. Glory
8. Gratitude
9. Love (Complete Value)
Day 5: 28/05/2016
Prof. Babu discussed the process of self - verification / Evaluation. Verification is to be done on the basis of natural acceptance. He explained the procedure of evaluation oneself.
Day 6: 29/05/2016
Prof. Babu discussed the theory of harmony in society and stated as “Right understanding in individual, prosperity in family, fearlessness in society and co-existence in natureâ€.
To explain the harmony in society we need to study its five dimensions:
1. Education: (Sanskar)
2. Health: (Sanyam)
3. Production: (Work)
4. Justice: (Suraksha)
5. Exchange: (Storage)
Day 7: 30/05/2016
Prof. Babu focused on the four orders of nature:
1. Material Order
2. Pranic Order
3. Animan Order
4. Human Order
Sharing Session
Dr. Mishra shared and exchanged with participants about their views on the five topics:
1. Name
2. Affiliation
3. Preconditioning
4. Achievements
5. Commitment
Day 8: 31/05/2016
Valediction Ceremony was held on 31st May 2016. The participants gave their suggestions and feedback of the FDP. Certificates were distributed to the participants.
