IEEE DAY CELEBRATION
8th October 2015
The IEEE Day - 2015 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and overwhelming participation of students on 8th October 2015 at DGI, Gr. Noida. The theme of the day was “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”. While the world benefits from what is new, IEEE focuses on what is next. On this occasion the following events were conducted:
1. Debate Competition
2. Poster Making Competition
3. Rangoli Competition
Prof (Dr.) Bhim Singh, Electrical Engg. Department, IIT Delhi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of this function. He was welcomed with a bouquet by Director, Prof. S. K. Bagga, IEEE Student Branch Counselor Prof H.S Dua, DGI briefed the audience about the program and introduced the Chief Guest.
Prof Bhim Singh addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of IEEE Day. He motivated the students to develop research activities along with their studies. He stated that it is the age of change in technology and advancement at such a pace that we have no other choice than to keep pace with it. We must always keep ourselves abreast of the new advances and development in the field. He stressed that there is always a room for more study and research on any topic of your interest.
The following number of students took part in the competition:
Debate competition – 18 students
Poster making Competition- 15 students
Rangoli Competition- 16 students
The winners of all the competitions were awarded Trophies and Medals and Participation Certificates were given to all the participants by Director. Prof. Dua delivered a Vote of Thanks at the end of the program.
