Industrial Visit to EVEREADY

An Industrial Visit to EVEREADY, Noida was organized by Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on 15th October 2015. 32 students of B.Tech (CSE) First Year went for a visit with faculty members Dr Neeraj Bala and Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Department of Applied Science and Humanities. The objective of this industrial visit was to gain practical knowledge about the management practices & production unit being followed at Eveready.
Mr. S.K.Saini, Human Resource Manager- Eveready welcomed the students and faculty members at the Noida Plant. He took the students to a room where Mr. Sanjay Ghosh, Technical Head – Eveready discussed about the vision of Eveready i.e to improve the quality of life of people through cutting-edge, portable energy and lighting solutions and to strengthen the timeless appeal of their brand. He talked about their product portfolio in domestic market that includes dry cell and rechargeable batteries under the brand names 'Eveready', 'Powercell' and 'Uniross', flashlights and lanterns under the brand names 'Eveready' and 'Powercell', packet tea under the brand names 'Tez', 'Jaago', 'Premium Gold' and 'Classic',Lamps and Luminaires under the brand names 'Eveready' and 'Powercell', devices like mobile power banks, rechargeable fans and radio under the 'Eveready' brand.
Further, the students were divided into four groups along with a coordinator and were taken for a tour of the plant. Mr. Ghosh described various stages of production and packaging where most of the functions are performed with the help of conveyor belt and robots. The company has high-speed manufacturing machines, both for batteries and flashlights. The complete manufacturing of the batteries from the mixing of raw materials, storage tank/ dissolving tank, injection moulding room, printing machine, filling machine/ sealing machine, packaging machine etc. were shown. The products are produced in a very systematic way. At each point engineer supervise the operations so that there is no chance of wastage although the process is automated. The Plant produces around 1.5 million.
It was a fruitful visit which provided an opportunity to acquire knowledge regarding the products of Eveready.
