Vigilance Awareness Week-2015
Debate and Elocution Contest
27th October 2015
Vigilance Awareness Week-2015 (26th – 31st October 2015) was observed by Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). GAIL(India) Limited in association with Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida took the initiative to ensure a wider outreach especially for creation of awareness on corruption and its effects amongst the youth and college students. Under this initiative, A Debate and an Elocution Contest was organized on 27th October 2015 at Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida on the topics related to corruption and its ill effects, importance of morals and values, honesty and integrity, ethics, transparency in governance and how youth can participate in the fight against corruption and such related issues. Students from several colleges of Delhi/ NCR were invited to the event.

The Officials provided their support and valuable time to carry out this event smoothly. The program commenced with the Lighting of Lamp by the Chief Guest followed by Saraswati Vandana. The dignitaries were welcomed with a bouquet presented by Prof. S.K Bagga, Director, DGI, Gr. Noida. First year students Ms. Ashi Sharma and Mr. Shiv Arora, were the Anchor of the Event. DGI, Gr. Noida. Prof S.K Bagga delivered the welcome speech in which he introduced the Chief Guest and Honoraries present at the event. Shri R.K Tripathi, Chief Guest of the event narrated the purpose of observingVigilance Awareness Week. S.V Prasad, Guest of Honour threw light upon the importance of Vigilance Awareness Week and his vision to see corruption free India which can only be possible with the efforts of youth whom he named as a backbone of the nation.
The Debate and Elocution Contest were held in English as well as in Hindi on the topic: “Vigilance is a necessary aid to Governance”.
The students participated in a team of two members each for Hindi and English Debate and individually for Hindi and English Elocution Contest. The participants presented their views and ideas on the concerned topic. The Jury of Elocution Contest included Shri S.K Nanda, Prof. H.S Dua and Mr Surender Kumar and for Debate Jury members were Prof. TPN Singh,Mr. Ajay Kumar and Sri Vimal kumar. The winners were felicitated with a Gift, Participation Certificate and the following Prize Money:
1. 1st Prize : Rs.5000/-
2. 2nd Prize : Rs.3000/-
3. 3rd Prize : Rs. 2000/-
The event ended with the motivational words of Shri S.V Prasad and Shri Abhinav Pandey. Prof. S.K Bagga presented a Journal of Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida as a token of love and appreciation to all the members of GAIL India Limited and felicitated them with a memento. He also showed his concern to establish a long association with Gail India Limited.
