A Seminar on “Engineering Education and Research” was organized by National Instruments at Hotel Radisson BLU, Greater Noida on 31st October 2015.
Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Science, and Mr. Raj Ranjan Prasad, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida attended the seminar.
SESSION 1 (10:00 AM - 11:30 AM)
Mr. Karun Jain began a first session in which he discussed briefly about National Instruments. National Instruments Lab VIEW is an industry-leading software tool for designing test, measurement, and control systems. He stated that Lab VIEW has flexibility of a programming language which is combined with built-in tools designed specifically for test and can create applications ranging from simple temperature monitoring to sophisticated simulation.
He introduced a “Lab View Tool”, which is multipurpose and user friendly interface software. He gave various examples from different research fields like advance control system, power electronic system, noise, vibration, harshness, robotics, engine control and automotive.
He discussed vital elements of Control System namely measurement and control I/O, math and analysis, user interface, targets, commercial technology and models of computation.
SESSION 2 (11:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
In the second session, Mr. Lokesh Bansal continued his discussion on Lab View Tool and gave brief review of Virtual Bench, an all-in-one instrument that integrates with our PC or iPad combining an oscilloscope, a function generator, a digital multimeter, a DC power supply, and a digital I/O into a single device by introducing module kits like NI compact DAQ, NI my DAQ, NI compact RIO, and NI my RIO.
SESSION 3 (2:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
In the third session Mr. Karun Jain continued his discussion and gave few more examples from various fields like RF / wireless communication system, structural health monitoring and biomedical signal processing.
The seminar ended with the Question-Answer session.
